Us Local Blokes are often asked if we stock Treated Pine or Hardwood, and of course the answer is yes! But it is important to be aware of the different levels of treatment for different applications.
When building indoors it is most often fine to use untreated timber, especially for Door Jambs, Window Reveals, and Architrave. When framing though, H2 treated timber is the go. (Sometimes called T2) If it’s out of site, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
If you’re building outdoors, but above ground, then specify H3 Treated Timber. The most obvious applications are Pergolas or Decks, but even modifying the inside of a shed could be considered worthy of H3 Treated Timber. Fence Rails are another example of an H3 Treatment application.
